Spending some time in Northwest Iowa will allow you to see the fabulous Algona Nativity Scene which was built during WWII. The Nativity scene was the project of Edward Kalb, a German POW held in the POW camp in Algona, Iowa.There were a total of 6 prisoners involved in the building of the Nativity Scene.
